1. Regularly Update Your Hardware Drivers

It is vital of importance to update your hardware drivers, like graphic cards and embedded graphic card. My Vista Home version could not support the Aero theme and after I updated the drivers for the embedded graphic card, everything is just going on well. Therefore, I strongly suggest that all the average PC users to regularly update their hardware drivers to make sure that any bugs or extra functions have been updated from the original manufacturers.

2. Disable Unneeded Windows Functions

Open the Control Panel, choose Add/Remove Applet, click the left-side list to enable or disable the Windows functions, and then clean up the unneeded functions which are associated with the specific information when you move the mouse hover it. I leave only XPS Viewer, Portable Storage Management and Compressing functions.

3. Use Advanced PC Tweaker

It is the most comprehensive tool I have ever seen with so many options to improve your PC performance.

4. Disable System Services

Open Start menu, go to the Run command where you can type services.msc command to pop up the control panel. Right click on the items you want to disable and set the service type to be automatically run, manually or disable. I recommend to close the following services:

Computer Browser

Distributed Link Tracking Client

IKE and AuthIP IP Keying Modules

Offline Files

Remote Registry

Tablet pc Input Service (unless you‘re using a tablet PC)

Windows Error Reporting

5. Remove the Startup Programs

Go to the Run command and type msconfig to choose the program that will automatically run at the system startup. I have only checked the Windows Defender and the audio application. However, you could not remove the anti virus program option.

6. Disable the Programs at the System Tray

7. Use ReadyBoost function

If you have large volume of USB Flash memory, right click on it and set it as virtual memory that will definitely boost up the read/write speed.

8. Remove the Special Effects on the System Interface

9. Advanced Settings

If your motherboard and hard drivers can support SATA, then make sure you check the Enable Caching at the property of the hard drives.

10. Defrag Your Hard Drivers.

Many times when working on a computer that has been infected with a virus, trojan, or piece of spyware I find myself with my most important command, Regedit, the Windows Registry Editor being disabled. Virus creators like to disable the Registry Editor so it makes solving the problem and removing the issue difficult.

Sometimes administrators in IT departments may place restrictions on using the regedit command to keep employees from changes things on company computers, but viruses and other issues may also try to disable it.

Listed below you will find the different ways to enable regedit, the Registry Editor.
First we’ll begin with the method that appears to work the best.

Method 1 - Enabling the Registry with VBScript

Doug Knox, a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional, has created a VBScript that enables or disables the Registry Editor based on the following location in the registry. Of course, since the registry editor is disabled, you can’t change it manually, so Doug wrote a Visual Basic Script to accomplish the task.

HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\

Visit Doug’s page and download Registry Tools VBScript to your desktop, double-click on it to run it, then reboot your computer and try to open the Registry Editor.

If this fix didn’t solve your problem, try method two shown below.
Method 2: Use Symantec’s tool to reset shell\open\command registry keys

Sometimes worms and trojans will make changes to the shell\open\command registry entries as part of their infections. This will cause the virus to run each time you try to run an .exe file such as the Registry Editor. In these cases, visit Symantec’s website and download the UnHookExec.inf file to your desktop. Right-click on it and choose Install. Restart your computer and then try to open the Registry Editor.
Method 3: Rename Regedit.com to Regedit.exe
Some viruses and other malware will load a regedit.com file that is many times a zero byte dummy file. Because .com files have preference over .exe files when executed if you type REGEDIT in the run line, it will run the regedit.com instead of the real regedit.exe file.

Delete the regedit.com file if its a zero byte file to restore access to REGEDIT. In some cases, such as the W32.Navidad worm, you’ll need to rename the REGEDIT file to get it to work.

Method 4: Windows XP Professional and Group Policy Editor

If you have Windows XP Professional and access to an administrative user account, you could change the registry editor options in the Group Policy Editor.
1. Click Start, Run
2. Type GPEDIT.MSC and Press Enter
3. Go to the following location
o User Configuration
o Administrative Templates
o System
4. In the Settings Window, find the option for “Prevent Access to Registry Editing Tools” and double-click on it to change.
5. Select Disabled or Not Configured and choose OK
6. Close the Group Policy Editor and restart your computer
7. Try opening REGEDIT again
Although there are a few other ways, the above ways I have used with great success in re-enabling the REGEDIT command. If you are interested in more ways to reactive the REGEDIT command, you may want to visit a site called Killian’s Guide, that goes into more detail on a variety of ways to get the registry editor to work again.

Registry problems will degrade performance of computers. Advanced PC Tweaker can help users solve these problems.

Have you ever noticed your computer gradually gets slowly no matter in startup or application access?

Because after you use your computer for a period of time, system registry will contain many invalid and

useless thing and inevitably become fragmented and unclean. The useless information includes invalid entries

in ActiveX section, uninstall section, font section, shared dll’s section and help section and many other

parts of system. Those invalid entries cause instability when certain application is running or even prevent

programs working at all. So you may get a popping-up error or encounter death of computer or other registry

problems. For example sometimes help files can not be opened due to those invalid entries contained in this

section; no program starts but an error prompts when you click a shortcut in start menu because the shortcut

is invalid and links to a incompletely-removed program. Besides these directly-confronting effects, they

also take up your memory and disk space as the amount increases. Advanced PC Tweaker is highly recommended

to solve these problems. Its capability to deal with problematic registry is its most powerful function.

Since registry problems may exist in different parts of system, the check needs to be thorough and overall.

Advanced PC Tweaker processes such satisfactory check without involving too many steps. If you use this

program, the following screen shots may show you its brevity and be your general guidance:

As we know that files could be restored from Recycle Bin after being deleted. Of course, we could empty Recycle Bin absolutely, but please believe me that even if we had emptied Recycle Bin, the deleted files still could be retrieved by some professional tools. Actually, the “delete” operation in Windows only removes bits of information from files so they appear deleted in OS. Windows does not physically remove deleted files from your hard disk. And there are many tools available which can let others easily recover your sensitive files even after you format your hard disk.

So in order to protect our privacy, we must make these sensitive files disappeared or removed totally. We call this operation to shred files. In this way, the content of files will be overwritten physically so that is unavailable to recover the information of these files with tools. We must use some tools to do this work. Now take Advanced PC Tweaker as a example, I will show you an easy and safe method of shredding files. This optimization tool provides File Shredder function in its Advanced Toolkits unit.

Step 1. Open the program and click the Advanced Toolkits tab, and then click the File Shredder button.

Step 2. Click Add or Add Folder tab to select the file or folder which you want to shred, and then choose the Shred Level, click Shred at last.

Finally, your sensitive files have been removed from computers totally.

Having used IE for years, I have undoubtedly encountered many problems with IE. Sometimes, an IE error report always pops up, and you have no idea what has been wrong, and can just click to end it again and again. I have searched a lot of information from the internet and do some researches on this issue. Now, I would like to share my experience on how to ban the IE error report.

Of course, good software to fix the IE problems first is very necessary. You can search on the net to look for some wonderful programs which can help maintain your IE as well as make a complete care for your computer. Advanced PC Tweaker is one of them. Specially, Advanced PC Tweaker has a utility named “IE Repair”, which includes BHO (Internet Browser Helper Objects) Manager and IE Restore to block malicious plug-ins and restore Internet Explorer to the original states respectively.

Besides, there are some tips to ban IE error report on different operating system.

I have had my computer for 3 years. Everyday I surf the Internet to download the music and movies, watched the online video…etc. My computer really gave me lots of fun. But, recently it ran more and more slowly, which really made me frustrated and annoyed. I didn’t know what happened to my computer. At first, I thought it was infected with virus spreading on the network. After scanning my computer with the Norton Antivirus software, it displays nothing. I felt thoroughly helpless about my computer, thus I went to internet to search any solutions for it. I even posted the question about the problem with my computer at answers.yahoo.com.

Many people answered my question stating many pests which make my computer slow and suggested me to download a registry tool for a free scan to fix the problem. So, I downloaded many related software (Regcure, Error Smart, Registry Mighty) to do a comparison in every aspects. The safety, the compatibility, the interface and even the money they cost. I finally chose Advanced PC Tweaker and paid $34.95 for it to use its full functions.

When the Advanced PC Tweaker opened up, the first point catching my eyes was that the straightforward and intuitive interface. What is more, it is really easy to use. It told you exactly what the program would do for your PC and gave you buttons to perform each function. I clicked the button Scan and it finished after two minutes with the results of 12000 errors in my computer, ranging from Active X, Missing and Invalid path to Empty registry keys and System Service. I was amazed with the result so many errors the Advanced PT Tweaker found on my computer. With only a click of the button, all the problems were fixed within 2 minutes.
And the Advanced PC Tweaker can automatically back up the registry before repairing the problems. In case of any failure during operation, you can go back to the previous configuration with ease. It is safe for us to use the software, I really like it.

The Advanced PT Tweaker is very user-friendly and has many add-ons features. In a word, I found it to be a very good program, well worth the money I spent.

If your computer also runs very slowly, you can download it to scan your computer for
free:

Runtime errors can arise out of many things. Maybe you have a pop up blocker installed. When a window opens to execute a script, the pop-up blocker terminates the script before it can complete its command. This leads to what is known as a runtime error.
With every runtime error, you’ll have the chance to debug where the problem is in the code. Of course, as a casual web browser, this isn’t really any of our business. So instead we end up clicking through “OK” messages until the alerts disappear. As such, it can take several clicks to load a single page!
Another problem involves the configuration of anti-Virus software. While it’s certainly advisable to browse with protection, always make sure that you have the right permission levels within the application. If you switch off scripting, you’re likely to get quite a few runtime errors. It’s also important that your anti-Virus suite is configured NOT to scan the Temporary Internet Files. This can lead to all kinds of problems.
Some people find themselves flooded with annoying runtime errors, yet the website itself seems to function properly. To fix this, follow the steps below.
• Go to Tools and Internet Options in Microsoft Internet Exporer
• Click on the Advanced Settings.
• Disable script debugging.
• Disable the script error notification box.
• Save changes and relaunch your browser
This will prevent reports of errors being returned when you load a page. Note that it won’t prevent the actual collision. But you won’t have to click OK several times before a page actually loads.
It’s possible that runtime errors are the result of a spyware infestation. Many malicious users design software which sits under the browser and springs up pop-ups. Due to the rough cut nature of most malwares, they can lead to an unhealthy number of errors. Ultimately, they’re not designed with the end user in mind and in desperation to blitz your browser with third party ads; you’ll be fighting off many errors.
To deal with spyware, there are many excellent system cleaning utilities available on the market. These will tear through your computer and eliminate the bad apples. They will clean the registry as well as improve the overall performance of your computer. Advanced PC Tweaker is one of the best due to it powerful feature and reasonable price. With the function of “register activex” in this program , you can easily get rid of most of the runtime error.
It’s not out of the question, however, that the runtime error is the fault of the developer who created the page. Programming languages aren’t a walk in the park by any means and there is plenty of scope for errors. If the site is using bad code, there’s nothing you can do other than to find a different website. You can eliminate the error reporting however, as we mentioned above, and this is often enough to make a website usable.
You can usually tell when the problem is on the part of the developer. If the errors are occurring on innocuous websites designed for the masses, it’s likely a fault at your own end. Remember that most reputable businesses and organizations are forced to design tidy code that won’t clash with pop-up blockers and anti-Virus software. Still having problems? Remember the three most likely reasons.

A good Browser with favorite speed and nice design and style will provide users a very wonderful experience when surfing the net.

Today, my friend complained to me that he felt unsatisfied of his Mozilla because it takes quite long to open the application. But if it has opened, it’s quite normal. He asked me for some tips on how to make his Mozilla opened quickly. The Mozilla Firefox Version he has is 3.0.1. He also asked what the fastest Browser is.

Actually, it is quite a common question for many computer users as how to choose a fastest Browser or how to make their current Browser run faster? Indeed, a good Browser with favorite speed and nice design and style will provide users a very wonderful experience when surfing the net. However, there are many aspects influencing the speed of a Browser.

As for Firefox, it is a fast, secure and fully customizable on surfing the web. The opening of Firefox is not slow, unless a lot of plug-ins have been installed, which is a great reason for the slowing down of a Browser. So, users should check and be careful not to download or install too many plug-ins when browsing the sites.

In my opinion, the fastest Browser is IE6. IE6, as Microsoft’s intentional core technology, besides the great improvement on the stability and reliability, offers a lot of new utilities. But, to browse the photo sites, Opera Browser has a better performance. What’s more, Opera ranks ahead considering the network security.

Anyway, no matter what kind of browser users have, users may encounter some problems and get headachy with their own favorite Browser. Users may need some programs to help care and fix those errors or problems. Having used so many programs to maintain my computer and help increase my browsing speed, I am deeply impressed by Advanced PC Tweaker, which offers great utilities and features different from other programs.

Download Advanced PC Tweaker and free scan your PC now

Nero is very nice software, but while uninstall it, you will be taken into trouble. Now let me share a method of uninstall Nero 8 completely. Nero will be completely removed from our computers.

Nero 8 is a professional tool for burning and copying various formats including CD, DVD, diagnostic tools, virtual disc drives, DVD-9 and DVD-5 compression, and audio support for multiple formats.

It is very nice software, but while uninstall it, you will be stuck in trouble. The remains of Nero will prevent you to install new version of it or any other programs of the same kind.

Now let me introduce a method to uninstall Nero 8 completely. We know that program could not be uninstalled while they are running so we must make sure that the program is closed before uninstallation. Some programs or tasks of Nero will run in back-end with system start. Since we do not recognize the program or task running, we should launch our system in safe mode before we uninstall Nero. Because under safe mode, no program runs except system. While system starting, keep pressing F8 until it comes to windows advanced options menu and then select Safe Mode and press Enter. The system will launch in safe mode.

Then we could uninstall Nero through Add/Remove list of Control Panel first, after that you will find some folders of Nero still located in its installation directory. At this time we could delete these remaining folders manually, because the main parts of them have been uninstall.

Do not think that Nero has already been removed totally now. The registry which is so important for system is usually neglected. Without a clear registry, such uninstallation is a failure.

So finally we should clean the registry to remove all the items of Nero. Use Advanced PC Tweaker to scan and clean registry easily. It will help us to find out the invalid and empty keys of Nero and then remove them automatically.

After that, Nero will be completely removed from our computers.

Sometimes a registry problem causes a computer not to boot or to prevent logon. If you can’t boot the computer, or you don’t have any other means to restore the problem registry file, you might be able to open the registry on another computer, fix it, and restore it to the problem PC.
In order to fix the registry this way, you must be able to boot the system through a diskette or dual-boot configuration and gain access to the file system. You also need to be able to copy the registry file to a removable media with sufficient space to accommodate it or be able to copy the file across the network.
Here’s how to modify a remote registry locally on your computer if you can’t connect to it across the network:

Boot the other computer with a boot diskette or dual-boot OS and then copy the problem hive file to a removable media or directly across the network to your system.

1. Log in as administrator on your system and run REGEDIT.EXE.
2. In the Registry Editor, select either the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE or HKEY_USERS window, and then choose Registry | Load Hive.
3. Locate the file copied to the system in step 1, select the file, and click Open. This loads the hive into the local registry as a subkey of the selected key.
4. Make the necessary changes to the damaged hive and then choose Registry | Unload Hive.
5. Copy the hive file back to its original location on the problem computer. Restart to test the system.
Note: Editing the registry is risky, so make sure you have a verified backup before making any changes.
If you think that the above steps are too complicated and you don’t feel like you can handle it, you can also try a registry repairing program. Here I recommend Advanced PC Tweaker, I had used this program for several month. Compare to other similar registry cleaner, it is faster and powerful, Advanced PC Tweaker not only provide registry fixing feature, there are a lot of other useful features that you can’t find in other program. Simply with few clicks of your mouse, you can restore & fix the registry in a few minutes.
