When we are surfing internet, some annoying problems often appear around with our Internet Explorer. These problems are not strange to us; however, we could not get rid of them so easily. Here I make a summery of the most common problem and the methods dealing with them.
The problem that IE home page is hijacked by some malicious website happens usually. Sometime we can see that the display of title bar was changed to “Welcome to XXXX Site”. Thirdly, use the same method as the second step to rewrite the key assignment of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftInternet ExplorerMain. Finally, exit registry editor and reboot system.
A particular problem that even though you have corrected the setup options, after rebooting the computer, IE will still show up a unwanted home page. Actually, a program which may run automatically with system start has been already installed in our PC furtively. The only way to get rid of it is to delete items of registry. exe and C:Program Filesregistry.exe under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrent VersionRun of registry editor.
Another condition that our default home page has been hijacked, that is why restoring a default setup is useless to prevent home page being tamper. In fact, it is that the item of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerMainDefault_Page_URL has changed. Our default home page is control by the key of “Default_Page_URL”. We just correct the site address under this key assignment and this problem will be fixed.
